ITINERARY:

Day 1. Depart for your 17-Day Australia New Zealand Highlights Tour

Day 2. Cross the international dateline and arrive on Day 3

Day 3. Arrive Auckland. (2-nights)
Haere mai – Welcome to New Zealand. Transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. Stay at the M Social Auckland or similar.

Day 4. Auckland afternoon sightseeing 
This morning a tour of Auckland including a visit to Mt Eden, Parnell Village and Paratai Drive. This afternoon travel to the Waitakere Ranges, visit the black sand beach where ‘The Piano’ was filmed and travel into a dense rainforest with tree ferns, Kauri trees and waterfalls.

Day 5. Auckland to Rotorua coach tour (2-nights)
Travel to world famous Waitomo Caves before continuing to Rotorua. Your guided Waitomo Caves tour will be an unforgettable sightseeing experience as you walk through majestic caverns, explore limestone shafts, marvel at the stalactites and stalagmites and enjoy a boat ride through a grotto lit by thousands of tiny native glowworms. Stay at the Novotel Lakeside Hotel or similar.

Day 6. Rotorua sightseeing with Maori Concert with Hangi Dinner 
Your morning tour includes Rainbow Springs, Rainbow Farm Te Whakarewarewa thermal reserve and Te Puia Arts and Crafts Institute. Marvel at the natural wonders of Te Puia and explore its thermal valley of geysers, streams of boiling water and hot mud pools and get an insight into Maori culture through performance and traditional carving, weaving and art all created on site. The Agrodome is one of New Zealand’s most loved attractions and is a fun window into the farming culture with a sheep show, shearing and dog trials. Native flora and fauna is on display at Rainbow Springs Nature Park, including New Zealand’s national icon, the Kiwi, where a special Kiwi Encounter lets visitors see the nursery and hatchery for these endangered birds. Tonight enjoy a traditional Maori concert and Hangi (feast). (D)

Day 7. Rotorua to Queenstown. (3-nights)
The morning is at leisure before your flight to New Zealand’s South Island – Queenstown. On arrival transfer to your selected accommodation. Stay at the Heartland Hotel Queenstown or similiar.

Day 8. Milford Sound Tour coach tour & Cruise.
Travel by coach south into the Fiordland, through Homer Tunnel to Milford Sound. Then board a cruise past mile-high Mitre Peak, along this 16 km long glacially-carved fiord while visiting UNESCO-listed Fiordland National Park. This will be one of the most memorable experiences of your holiday. In the evening return to Queenstown. You can choose to return by scenic small plane instead (extra cost).  (L)

Day 9. Queenstown at leisure.  
At leisure to enjoy New Zealand’s favorite holiday resort town. Optional tours which can be added are: helicopter scenic flights, jetboating, steamship lake cruise with farm show, white water rafting, Lord of the Rings tours,  Skyline Gondola ride & dinner and more.

Day 10. Queenstown to Sydney.  (3-nights)
Time at leisure until your flight to Sydney. G’day! Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Stay at the Megaboom City Hotel or similar.

Day 11. Sydney city sightseeing tour.
This morning during your guided walking tour of the historic Rocks area, you will enjoy views of the harbor and see historic buildings and sandstone stairs whilst wandering through the many alleyways. Your guide will tell you the story of the settlement of New South Wales. An afternoon city tour past the Opera House, Botanical Gardens and the southern beaches including Bondi.

Day 12. Sydney harbour cruise & Sydney city tour
Your cruise of Sydney Harbour today includes stops at the Rocks, Opera House, Watson’s Bay and Taronga Zoo. Your ticket is flexible enabling you to take any of the 8 daily departures, spending as long as you wish at each stop before rejoining the cruise. Entrance to the Taronga Zoo, where you can see many native animals including kangaroos and koalas, is included in your ticket.

Day 13. Sydney to Cairns (3-nights)
Today is at leisure until you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairns. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Cairns. You can choose to stay instead in Palm Cove (20 Min. north. A quaint, upscale beachside village) or Port Douglas (1 hr north located. A village with beach access in the Rainforest). Stay at the 

Day 14. Great Barrier Reef snorkel cruise
Today visit the Outer Barrier Reef on a cruise to the reef.  There will be time for a swim (snorkel or scuba dive $) and to view the abundant sea life from the underwater observatory. There will be an option to see the reef from glass bottom boat if you prefer. (L) A plentiful buffet lunch will be served on the ship. Snorkel equipment is included.

Day 15. Kuranda, Scenic Rail, Skyrail and Hartley’s Crocodiles Wildlife Tour
Once aboard, be amazed as you journey over and through World Heritage protected Rainforest. Your Boarding Pass is your ticket for this iconic rainforest experience that includes time at both Red Peak and Barron Falls stations, both with spectacular lookouts. Or visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre. Complimentary guided boardwalk tours are offered throughout the day at Red Peak Station. After arriving at the Smithfield Skyrail Terminal, our coach is waiting to transfer you to Hartley’s.
From the Terminal your coach bus will transfer you to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures – the best place to see crocodiles and Australia wildlife in North Queensland! There will be plenty of free time to explore the park, including the unique eco experience of the Wetlands cruise through the ecologically significant Melaleuca wetlands; the domain of the saltwater crocodile. See the notorious head shake and death roll of a huge crocodile at the Crocodile Attack Show, and the opportunity to hold a crocodile for a photo (at own expense). Also discover the world’s most venomous snakes at the Snake Show before your return transfer departs at 4.45pm.

Day 16. Depart Cairns.
At leisure until you are transferred to the airport.
